329/365: felt super weird not having lunch or dinner or a fireplace hang with this bunch the first couple of days back home 🥹
kept very warm this winter in company of all these kind, generous, talented people, and i was very much reminded of what i love about life and why i do what i do - how we are more alike than different, how you somehow find answers in new people/places, how in the grand scheme of things we are just but a moment in this time/space that all but makes these bits even more precious (thank you @warefquba for documenting our time northern lights- watching~)

322/365: it’s been quite so overwhelming in the best ways to have experienced so many firsts within this short week; what does one do being constantly surrounded + (over)stimulated by so much beauty - both in people and in spaces? ✨

my kyocera tumbler,

/ this season is passing me by much too quickly,
but i love that the cold forces us to keep our freezing hands in our pockets so that some evenings, when we walk to the supermarket, all we can do is exchange breaths + memories. we’re just human again

i. via negativa: when the artist forces you to confront you;
ii. via negativa: walking through this path of fractured mirrors was discomforting yet strangely meditative; learnt later that Lee Bul was speaking of a theological concept “the negative way” that the divine can only be approached indirectly through negation & silence, rather than affirmation. On the outer walls are pages from Julian Jaynes’s The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind (1976) - my next read on human consciousness;
iii. Souterrain: the entrance to leebul’s exhibition - thinking about hidden spaces and the tension between what we are asked to see vs what we do not see;
iv. Thaw (takaki masao);
v. Untitled (Willing to be vulnerable - velvet #12);
vi. close-up on untitled - mother-of-pearl AND velvet;
vii. 퍼두/ perdu;
viii. heaven and earth - strangely reminded me of hankang’s books and learnt later this artwork was a reference to activist Park Jong-cheol (see han kang’s human act);
ix. excavation - on collective trauma, bodies;

reflected a lot on humanity, media as a medium/tool/ expression, technology, history, time past present future, & so i come back to this bit I just read in Prabal Gurung’s memoir <Walk Like A Girl> - the human ego will really be our downfall

Up until recently i answered sg, simply bcuz most people i love reside in sg; these days, ive found a home within myself, & the universe really do be bringing me people who can match this energy of love, generosity, kindness & humility + relieving me of those who only know to take

these days i also get lotsa invitations to go running but all i want to do is horizontal running……
